Mission Statement
To promote the growth of
ice hockey by providing a safe and supervised environment that
encourages families from all areas in the Lamoille County region
to participate. By providing children with the proper
instruction for basic skills, knowledge, positive guidance and
attitude through teamwork, the children will develop a love for
the sport that will make the game fun and rewarding at an
affordable cost.
Eligibility: All children,
male or female, who are at least four years of age as of
December 31st of the registering year, and who reside
in the Lamoille County area, are eligible to participate.
LAHA Background:
Lamoille Area Hockey Association (LAHA) was formed
when a group of dedicated parents and volunteers from around
Lamoille County came together with a goal of creating a new
youth hockey organization that would serve all of Lamoille
County. In the past Stowe Youth Hockey was the only option
for youth hockey. For many parents living outside Stowe this
was not realistic due to travel time and cost, so kids did
not get to play.
LAHA’s goals are to provide youth a chance to
experience and learn hockey in a fun and educational
atmosphere. In its first year, LAHA aims to have appropriate
programs available for youth ages 4 through 16. Working with
USA Hockey and the VSAHA (Vermont State Amateur Hockey
Association), LAHA will cultivate a strong hockey program.
LAHA will be based out of CREW Arena and will run each year
between September and February. During the summer months,
youth will have a chance to play through the Rink Rat
program run by CREW Arena.
